Teriyaki Chicken Crock Pot Freezer Meal

Hello Suzies! So as promised this is the first of the crock pot freezer meals that we have tried. The consensus in our house was a double thumbs up. I personally would cut out the pineapple but everyone else liked it so it will be staying just cut in half.  Also I cut up my chicken breasts before putting them into the bags. Hope you like this recipe and it works out for you and your family. Feel free to leave your feedback on this below! I'd love to hear from you!

Teriyaki Chicken
Medium – Large bag of carrots
Red Onion into Large Chunks
2 large cans pineapple (undrained)
4 Garlic Cloves
4 Chicken Breasts
1 cup teriyaki sauce

Follow directions above, and split everything into two gallon freezer bags. shake it up, seal, label and put in the freezer. Instructions for Bag: Add 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce to crock pot, Cook on low 8 hours or high 4 hours. Serve over hot rice

When Life Gives You Lemons...

...try to return them for grapes!!! ;-)

Hello Suzies!!! Long time now write. I know it has been absolutely forever since I have written and for that I am deeply sorry. Life just...happened...and now that spring is here (although it feels like summer here in Michigan! WOWZA! 89 today!) I am starting my spring cleaning and with that starts the organization projects and decorating to-do list. I am super excited because I also have my very first sewing lesson this Monday with my new sewing machine and the first project on my list is a pillow inspired off a tutorial I found on Pinterest!! I am hoping to be able to post pics and link the tutorial once I finish that for you guys!

The main reason for this post, other than an update, is to let you all know that last week I did a bunch of freezer crockpot meals (also inspired by Pinterest! HA!) and wanted to share my experience and a picture. What I did is made a list of the recipes that I would be making and added the ingredients I didn't have to my grocery list. I came home and left out all the things I would need, washing and prepping meat and veggies as I went. It took about 2 hours to prep and clean up. I made 4 different recipes and made two meals out of each leaving me with 8 freezer meals all together.

We tried one this last weekend, the Teryaki Chicken, and we loved it!!! Super excited to see how the other ones turned out as well. I will post the recipes one by one in the posts to follow as we eat them so I can also do a quick review. I think that you can make most crock pot meals freezer friendly if you know what can and can't be frozen.

Hope everyone is doing great and is enjoying the awesome weather we seem to be having. Spring is definitely here!! :D

Til next time,

Welome!

Hello fellow homemakers out there! My name is Mandy and this is going to be a blog about just that; making a house into a home.

A little about me: I am 26 and have 3 beautiful children, Kayleigh  7, Devon 5, and Connor 4. Needless to say they keep me busy and on my toes. I have been happily married to my best friend for the last 6 1/2 years. We live in Michigan where we are having a really odd winter. Hardly any snow but I am definitely not complaining!!

Until recently I was always up and down about what exactly in life it was I wanted to do. I love a lot of the beauty world (hair, nails, makeup, etc). In fact I work part time in a salon as a beauty adviser. And I thought that is what I wanted to do with my life. Get a license to be a esthatician or hair stylist and go from there. But after a while, I realized that as much as it made me happy to do as a hobby, trying to make it a career just stressed me out and made me irritable. 2011 wasn't the greatest year for me and my family so as the year came to an end I sat down and made a list of resolutions of goals I wanted to achieve for myself and my family over the upcoming year, and that is when it hit me. What I wanted to do all along, was become a Suzie homemaker. Now I know the term Suzie homemaker can be a bit intimidating to some. It still is for me! When I first thought of this idea, I pictured the 50 styled wife with perfectly done hair and makeup aprons tied around the waste with a 5 course meal ready every night on time as the hubby came home from work. Well my life doesn't fit the 9-5 role and it made me nervous that I wouldn't be able to achieve this goal.  But I took it and made it my own. Being a Suzie homemaker, in my eyes, is just taking on the roll of the family planner/coordinator who wants nothing more but for her family to be happy and have a efficiently run home and life.

So that is where I find myself today. Starting this blog to track my progress through out the year, I am participating in the 52 Weeks to An Organized Home (join us HERE!) and so far so good. I will start weekly posts as the year goes on to show my progress, even though some of the pictures may be more than a little embarrassing. I am also addicted to pinterest which I am finding so many of my friends are now too lol! I am becoming inspired by so many DIY projects, recipes, sewing tutorials, and oh so much more.

I am looking fwd to 2012 and all the amazing possibilities it holds for us all. I hope you follow along with me in my journey and that we maybe get a chance to interact along the way!
